Deb entered the commercial arena as a sales-cadet for a national sports company direct from school. In her late
teens, and hungry for success her career went from strength to strength. Deb soon made a 'name' for herself and was
approached by one of the UK's largest construction companies assuming her first field-sales role. A relative unknown in
the construction 'world' she advanced rapidly – in a sector that at the time was strongly dominated by males.
Deb's career flourished, as she thrived on the challenge of being questioned on her knowledge of solutions and her
ability to maintain national contracts by building strong relationships. Following several promotions, many of which
assumed responsibility for UK regional locations Deb chose to return to the Midlands taking a career break for the birth
of her first child in 1992.
Upon her daughter reaching school age and keen to return to work, Deb approached several recruiters, seeking advice
on fulfilling opportunities that were based close to home. It was at this juncture that Deb seized the opportunity to
utilise her now strong people skills to embark upon a career in professional recruitment.
Often working 60-70 hrs per week to establish herself via relationship building with key national clients and SME's alike
Deb rapidly engendered the trust of her clients for her knowledge, integrity and flair for identifying 'best-fit' candidates.
Adept at building trust with clients and candidates alike, her career progressed swiftly to Branch Manager.
After many years with the same employer Deb had her second child in 2002. Missing the 'buzz' of recruitment she
returned shortly after, affording her husband an opportunity for a career break to care for their son who has faced
significant health challenges. This time she found her niche specialising in permanent placement within the education and
training sector.
Acknowledging that permanent recruitment is her true passion, Deb has joined GPRS Recruitment assuming overall
responsibility for Training & Education recruitment. As a seasoned recruitment professional Deb endorses the ethics and values
GPRS promote, believing also that it's possible to work smartly to achieve a fulfilling work/life balance.
Deb works closely with her colleagues at GPRS to help bring a contemporary freshness to the industry by placing importance in only selecting the best candidates to present to her clients. In short Deb is committed and focused on building long-term relationships with clients and candidates alike, so all involved have their career and business aspirations fulfilled. On a personal note, Deb enjoys spending quality time with her family enjoying walking, camping and swimming.
