An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Category Program Manager to join my client's Viennoiserie (pastry) team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of Innovation, frequent travel between London to Kent will be required.

As the Category Program Manager your food project management skills are exemplary, as it will be your responsibility to manage all projects within the Viennoiserie category. Leading from the front you will demonstrate a thorough knowledge and experience of the food innovation process from accepting the client's brief to the post launch review.

You will have a minimum of 2-3 years people management experience within an innovation/ food process team, the successful candidate will have one direct report Process Development Manager, also you will lead the virtual category team which includes Senior National Account Managers, Marketing team, Site Management and Cost Accounting Team.

Without question you're an excellent communicator who is equally as comfortable with internal and external key stakeholders i.e. Manufacturing Manager, GM's, and NPD. Previous sole responsibility for writing retail customer specifications, preferably own label products, devising and leading on projects including resource allocation i.e. project team, allocation of tasks, communicating project progress, a good understanding of plant operations, their operational limitations and how these limitations may affect the development process of 'live' projects, all this whilst keeping an watchful eye on the budget.

Non negotiable: Food Science degree, previous experience of writing detailed retail customer specifications, minimum 2-3 years people management experience innovation/process food team, extensive travel between my client's London and Kent sites.
