Unique womens wear brand with both a national and international high street presence seeking to appoint a National Stores Controller with responsibility for c20 stores across the UK.

Job Summary:

To pro-actively contribute to the formation and direction of the store trading strategy and through its implementation drive sales and contribution targets across all store channels in order to significantly grow sustainable profitability. To effectively lead Store Managers and develop high performing store teams

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Sales and Profitability:

Commercially analyse sales trends to identify areas of risk/opportunity and implement strategies and plans to drive profitability across all store channels.
In conjunction with Store Managers identify priority stores, agreeing actions plans to ensure that the correct support frameworks are put in place.
Utilise underpinning knowledge of the business and industry to forecast sales plans and budgets effectively and accurately.
Encourage and instil a sales culture in all stores, creating an environment where all employees are able to confidently talk about sales and store performance and understand how they can impact on this.
Ensure that store teams understand their customer profile and are best placed to utilise this knowledge to provide great service and deliver sales targets.
Maintain awareness of competitor activity, responding to any threats or opportunities to the business with action plans implemented through Store Managers.
Build local knowledge of each store and participate in new store planning, to ensure that any new sites or moves are operationally and financially sound for the Company.

Brand and Customer Standards:

Collaborate with Visual Merchandising and Marketing teams to ensure that all promotional activity is utilised to promote the brands, drive footfall and impact positively on sales.
Inspire store teams to deliver outstanding customer service every time, recognising and sharing success and managing performance that falls below expectations.
Be the ambassador for the brand through own appearance and compliance with the employee dress code.

People Management and Development:

Actively coach Store Managers to drive team performance and build succession within the business, fostering high levels of accountability and autonomy.
Ensure that best practice is shared and to develop and improve working practices.
Introduce motivational initiatives at a local and national level to drive business performance, celebrating success to maintain the momentum.

Skills Required:

Inspiring leader with proven people management skills
Proficiency in motivating performance and effective coaching skills
Ability to build credible business and customer relationships
Business focused approach to finding solutions in a high pressure business environment
Strong analytical approach to problem solving
Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels
Demonstrable track record of implementing and driving change
Commercially focused sales professional
