Mike joined the team at GPRS Recruitment in the summer of 2009, having worked for the business on a consultancy basis during 2007-2008. Mike’s previous involvement meant he’d gained both valuable insight, and a good appreciation of the direction and growth strategies the business was taking – then came the ‘credit-crunch’.
After 3 years with a regional IT & Communications specialist who GPRS previously out-sourced its IT & Communications needs to, Mike found himself ‘between-jobs’. This presented both a challenge, and an opportunity alike, resulting in Mike joining us the team here on a full-time basis.
Mike now assumes responsibility for all things IT – infrastructure, hardware, our web presences, security, WAN communications, LAN & server hosting – basically anything that’s anything to do with anything that’s got a chip in it.
More than this, Mike is responsible for making the ideas we have come to life, shaping from raw content and vision to our proprietory marketing collateral. Data manipulation, storage and that tedious formatting are must-haves that Mike takes in his stride.
Understanding towards people and tasks, very logical in solving problems and associated scenarios, Mike is motivated towards ‘getting the job done’, without flaw or imperfection. Constantly challenged with learning and the need to perfect new skills and methods, Mike remains willing, and fast to learn.
Mike is self-taught and highly proficient in XHTML, JavaScript, CSS, PHP, MySQL, Classic ASP, and PureBasic programming/coding. Other areas of strength include the wider Adobe Creative Suite, Office Suites, and the unique and rare ability to work within code to achieve the high performing and robust results that can be attained by the few that aren’t reliant upon code-generating packages.
Mike is a key member of the project team here at GPRS Recruitment, and works closely with the Directors of the business on development and growth in preparation for the future. In his spare time Mike enjoys photography, travel and all things computing.
