Joy has experienced an interesting and varied career path prior to joining the team at GPRS Recruitment. Her employment journey began some 22 years ago with a small recruitment company based in Ealing, London. This role involved her focusing on both temporary and permanent positions for businesses of varying types and sizes in the locality.

Never one to have narrow horizons however, Joy decided that the world had more to offer her and wanted to fully utilise her skills through focusing them in an alternative field. After two years in recruitment, Joy decided to try her hand overseas; taking herself off to Europe. Initially joining for a 12 month stint as a holiday ‘rep’ for a major travel company, her employer soon recognised her potential. Therefore from the initial position of holiday representative, Joy was promoted to resort manager; a position she occupied for some 13 years in a variety of locations.

Throughout her time in the travel industry, Joy’s recruitment-based skills never left her. She consistently delivered excellent customer service, frequently exceeding her sales targets; ensuring she performed year on year to the exacting and demanding standards of this highly competitive sector. This included helping to open up a new frontier in the travel market in Eastern Europe for which Joy achieved the &lsqup;Highest Percentage In Excess Of Targets’ for the company, nationally, in her first year in post.

In order to continue to push herself further, Joy decided that a new challenge was required, and that after 19 years overseas now was the time to return to the UK. She returned to recruitment, employed by one of the UK’s largest agencies.

Joy was tasked with starting up a new line of recruitment within her branch; this was in the field of ‘High End’ Personal and Executive Assistants, targeting large corporate clients. Despite market saturation, Joy placed her stamp of success on the role and within 12 months was producing extremely positive results. Upon leaving her employer, Joy handed over to her successor a role that was both fully operational and successful.

Joy now brings her skills and attributes to the GPRS team. She is a true team-player, possessing the determination and passion to accelerate her success at her new ‘home’. Never one to turn down a challenge, Joy is committed to the world of recruitment. Her flair and enthusiasm are just two attributes she is keen to employ to both her clients and candidates advantage.

This is Joy’s first venture to ‘the north’, as despite her extensive travels she has never before been based further north than Northampton. Living here with her partner, Joy is enjoying the new location and picturesque scenery that Staffordshire has to offer.

Joining the UK-wide Training & Work Based Learning team at GPRS at this exciting time of growth promises to keep Joy pretty busy. During relaxation time she is often engrossed in a good book, yet her true passion is cooking, at which she excels in speciality eastern dishes – the spicier the better.
