Associate Director

John joined the team here at GPRS Recruitment during the first half of 2010 with a remit to establish our specialist recruitment practice for Human Resources professionals, and subsequently to launch our Luxury, Fashion and Retail practice; providing tailored recruitment solutions at all levels within these sectors.

John has over 18 years recruitment experience across a range of specialised sectors including Finance, Consultancy, Corporate Services, and latterly a decade specialising in the field of Human Resources. More recently, John has focused in the Luxury and Fashion sectors, working with a range of high-profile national and international brands.

After graduating in Economics and then spending a couple of years with H.M. Treasury, John moved into his first recruitment role in the field of financial recruitment based in Manchester.

He then spent the next five years recruiting finance and accounting professionals in the North West and Yorkshire with clients ranging from global blue chip organisations to smaller entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses.

Relocating to London in 1997 John set up the Management Consulting recruitment division within a major International recruitment business, working on assignments for the clients including the major global strategy houses, leading international consultancy firms, and specialist boutiques.

A year later, John was approached to set up the Interim Management division of Frazer Jones HR Recruitment. He subsequently spent six years leading this area of the business. In doing so he established a strong track record with a wide range of clients in a variety of business sectors. These included professional services, banking, consumer products, retail, fashion, and hospitality.

Remaining in London, John subsequently became Head of Division within Macmillan Davies Hodes, then a Director with Resource Innovations - a boutique HR recruitment firm prior to heading the London HR division of Mackenzie Jones.

Having done his ‘stint’ in London, which lasted somewhat longer than originally intended, John has now returned to his northern ‘roots’.

John’s approach to recruitment reflects the professional ethics of GPRS working in a partnership with both his clients and candidates. Providing to candidates advice, assistance and a personal approach tailored to their experience and aspirations.
