Chelsea joined the team here at GPRS Recruitment in 2010. No stranger to our fast-paced ways and bad taste in jokes and background music though, as Chelsea had worked with us from time to time whilst still studying at College. Priding ourselves on our recruitment abilities and intuitive ways, we thought it best when seeking to find the right fit for this newly created support role to follow the ‘belt & braces’ approach. We ran a pretty detailed advert to leave no stone unturned in our quest to get to it right, first time. Any thoughts we may have had about some of our clients being perhaps over fussy occasionally paled in comparison with this exercise.
Scores of CVs were reviewed, a day of back-to back interviews scheduled, and despite meeting many capable candidates (many with considerable management experience, and top-100 company heritage) Chelsea came shinning through with considerable determination and aplomb. Proving once again that diversity savvy recruitment identified the most driven and professional individual, Chelsea truly is head and shoulders above the rest. Being acquainted with the team here already helped, in as much as she knew who had milk and how many sugars in their tea, yet only a few months have passed and she’s relaxed and happy in her dominion - known to many as reception.
Further to achieving good grades all-told upon leaving school, Chelsea went on to study travel & tourism at college full-time. Resisting the lure of a voyage of discovery, she’d be forgiven for thinking her desire for varied experiences, cosmopolitan outlook, and customer service skills may lay dormant for some time yet to come. As she succumbed to home comforts, the chance to socialise without the constant accompaniment of study, and mugs of hot chocolate. So the ‘home-girl’ commenced her first full-time role in the care sector, attending to both the elderly and venerable adults.
Swiftly realising this to be some way off her chosen vocation, she set time aside to balance concurrent evening courses in accounts and administration (the latter at business professional level) achieving a number of key qualifications. Shortly thereafter she applied for the role of Marketing Support & Lead Administrator (with a dash of receptionist, PR, resourcing, internal compliance, fish-keeping, hospitality organisation, promotional distribution, and last-minute shopping)... plus fetching the chips to boot. Only a few weeks into her new role, the office heating failed for several days and the ‘in the trenches’ camaraderie that ensued bonded Chelsea with the rest of our team (doubtless aided a little by her functional portable heater?).
Chelsea is the face of our company, assuming responsibility for front of house calm and order, administrative duties, accounts reconciliation & preparation, championing client hospitality, supporting our Market Sector Specialists to deliver consistent revenues, and then some. Clearly enjoying the gradual understanding of our value proposition, unique approach to client satisfaction, and the value we put on our time will stand Chelsea in good stead for the challenge that clearly puts a twinkle in her eye. We think she’ll make a great Recruiter, and what better opportunity to study recruiters at work than that which the next 2 years will provide.
As in a few short weeks she’ll be supporting our Sales Director in a national advertising campaign to augment our team of Professional Recruiters. We think Chelsea will be well prepared to take charge of our envisioned foray, leading to our quest to craft a position for ourselves as a chief source of the next generation of passionate recruiters - but there’s a couple of pretty demanding exams to complete along the way. In the meantime playing a key role in our regular H.I.R.E.s (High Impact Recruitment Exercises) provides Chelsea many an opportunity to study each candidates upon their arrival, and see each and every vacancy filled as we maintain our 100% success record as H.I.R.E.s conclude – clients waking away happy and relieved.
Albeit she’s currently the ‘new-kid-on-the-block’, she’ll be passing that on soon as we grown in number and strength. Excited about where the company’s heading, she is ready and eager to grow with the business. During her spare time, Chelsea enjoys socialising with friends and family, often making time to journey away to catch-up with her contemporaries who’ve moved away. Having a preference for alpine destinations, family skiing holidays are her first-hand tourism experiences nowadays. As much as she’s occupied with her duties and the opportunities on her journey with GPRS, like all the girlies she can still make time for shopping.
